OOMPA LOOMPA
Small, singing people are a stereotype. The Dwarves from Snow White, the Smurfs, and the Oompa Loompas from Roald Dahl’s children’s books. The Oompa Loompas are a fictional people of small stature. They live in treehouses, sing and dance, and absolutely love cacao. That’s why they get a large supporting role in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory and Charlie’s adventure. But should real little people be happy with representation like this? Not really. Even if the Oompa Loompas provide kids with life lessons in the form of songs.
